To complete the Char Dham Yatra, it will take up to some 10-12 days. If you are taking a helicopter, then you can finish it in about 5 days max.
The best time is during May-June and September-October. Monsoons during July and August may make it a little risky and inconvenient.
Char Dham Yatra usually begins from Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun and follows this path: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath, and back to starting.
By Air: You can come to Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport (nearest). By Train: The nearest railway stations are in Haridwar and Rishikesh. By Road: You can take buses and taxis!
There are helicopter services available from Dehradun, Phata, Sirsi, and Guptakashi. You have to book it in advance and the prices may vary as per the service provider.
You have to trek to reach each Dham. There are Palkis, Ponies and helicopters available to avoid trekking, especially for senior citizens.
