Overview

This place is popularly called Devgiri, as legend says Lord Shiva stayed near these hills. The fort lies about 16 kilometres from Aurangabad and is historically famous for being the interim capital of Mohammad bin Tughlaq's dynasty from 1327-1334. Daulatabad means blessed with prosperity.
