Overview

In close proximity to the VishnuPad Temple lies the well-known Akshya Vat, a Banyan Tree. As per folklore, it is believed that the Akshya Vat received Sita Devi's blessing to be everlasting and never shed its leaves throughout any season. It is a venerable Banyan tree that is said to have existed before Lord Ram's reign and has many intriguing legends connected to it.

What To Expect?

The location is known for offering a peaceful environment and is famous for the mythology associated with it.

Tips

  • If want to perform puja over there by a Pandit Ji, keep in mind that they will ask for an excessive amount of INR 2000 - INR 4000. But for locals, it varies between INR 500 to INR 1000. So, if you have good barging skills you can manage to do your puja at a very less price.
  • The puja continues for approximately 3 hours, so make sure that you attend it in its entirety.
