Overview
The goddess Abirami Amman is worshipped in the Abirami Amman Temple. During the Navratri celebration, the city's central temple is overrun by worshippers. The Kolu, a holy object during Navratri, is housed at the temple.

What To Expect?
Over a period of a few weeks, the temple's priests will chant more than a million "archanas" in honour of the temple's Goddess. Every Friday in the Tamil month of Adi, the Goddess is possessed and carried about on a floral pallak.
Tips
- The temple is accessible from 5 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 9 PM on all days of the week.
- Maintain complete peace within the temple premises.
