Bhavnagar
Bhavnagar is a port city in the Gujarat State's Saurashtra Region. It's located around 198 kilometres from the state capital of Gandhinagar. Takhteshwar Temple
Sacred Hindu shrine
This Takhteshwar hilltop temple is one of the earliest documented sacred places in all of Gujarat, and it can be found on the Takteshwar Tarheti Road. The route to the temple is more of a hike, set out along a marble stairway with a wonderful perspective of the verdant landscape that surrounds it. An image of Shiva and a lesser Nandi figure sit atop eighteen ornate pillars in the temple's large courtyard, which serves as the shrine's focus.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
Peaceful Hindu temple
Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, as its name implies, is focused entirely on Swaminarayan Ji. The temple's offerings span the religious, pedagogical, and recreational spectrums. It's a fascinating look into the life of the ascetic Shri Swaminarayan, who preached ahimsa and dharma to his disciples. The locals refer to the temple as the Aksharwadi temple, although visitors often just call it "the temple."

Palitana Near Bhavnagar
The holy tourist attraction of Bhavnagar
In the Shatrunjay hills, above the holy ground of Palitana, are a staggering three thousand magnificent temples revered by the local Jain community. Over the course of those nine hundred years, the Jain society erected several temples honouring the various Tirthankars who preceded the main temple's main deity, Lord Adinath (the first Tirthankar).

Piram Bet Island

Within the Gulf of Khambhat, Piram Bet Island can be found around 2 kilometres away. About 4-5 kilometres in length and 2 kilometres in breadth is the size of this island. The Nishkalank Mahadev Temple is another stunning attraction in the city of Bhavnagar. It can be found in the little Bhavnagar settlement of Koliyak. Nearly a kilometre out into the ocean, you can envision the tidal surge that would cover the temple, only to reveal it after the tide went out. It's something to look forward to when the water covers the temple and all you can see is the flag.

Blackbuck National Park

The black bucks of India can be seen in Velavadar National Park, which is also known by its alternative name. It's in the Velavadar district of the Bhal area of Saurashtra and it was established there in 1976. Area-wise, it tops out at about 36 square kilometres, and it's mostly just grassland and shrub.

Victoria Park
Sprawling park for relaxation
Victoria Park, a magnificent and surprisingly large green space in the city's heart, covers about 500 acres. The Maharaja of Takhtsinhji founded it in 1888, and the Indian government is currently responsible for its upkeep. The triangular-shaped park is well-known for its tranquil environment and abundance of native plant and animal species.

Gaurishankar Lake
Picturesque Tourist Attraction
Bor Talav's Gaurishankar Lake, also called Bhavnagar Nagar, is located on each side of Victoria Park. In 1872, the Gaurishankar Lake was originally constructed as a public reservoir when its sister stream, Balvatika, merged with it. Besides a Shaiva temple, there is also a children's area called the Pil Garden. As a bonus, the lake makes for a beautiful sunset backdrop.
