Ganapatipule

Swayambhu Ganpati Temple is located on the beautiful Ganapatipule beach in Ratnagiri. The 400-year-old Lord Ganpati idol here is said to have sprung up from the earth and is believed to be self-created. The temple is frequented by several devotees every year.

A pristine stretch of the Konkan coastline, the twin beaches of Aare-Ware are separated by a hillock, and were formed due to the convergence of the mountain into the ocean.

Located about 30 minutes from Ganapatipule and featuring breath-taking views of the meeting point of Shashtri River and the Arabian Sea, Jaigad Fort is said to have been built by the Bijapur Kings.

The Karhateshwar Temple, located near Jaigad Fort, is a scenic temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple holds religious significance, and its location along the coast adds a calming aura, attracting visitors seeking spiritual solace and natural beauty.

Ganapatipule hosts a number of water activities arranged by MTDC during the peak season. You can also go swimming in the clear waters here.

Built by the Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad, the Keshavsut Memorial is a tribute to the renowned Marathi poet, Laureate Keshavsut, also known as Krishnaji Keshav Damle.
