The Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple, one of Kerala's seven great Vaishnava temples, is located in Alappuzha district. Built between the 15th and 17th centuries by Chembakassery's ruler, it showcases traditional Kerala architecture.

The Alappuzha – Changanassery road passing through Kuttanad ,offers a scenic view of the place. Farming is the major occupation in Kuttanad and rice is the staple crop. The canals are surrounded by coconut trees swaying to the beats of the breeze.
