Srisailam

Shikhareswara Temple, atop Srisaila Sikharam in Srisailam, is an ancient, east-facing temple dedicated to Lord Veerashankara (Sikhareswara). Located 2850 ft above sea level, it is revered for its spiritual significance, offering devotees a glimpse of the peak and its sacred surroundings.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is named after Mallikarjuna’s devotee, Mallamma and is a recent addition to the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple.

Famous for being the site where Sri Shankaracharya wrote one of his treatises, Hathakesvara Temple is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

It is believed that the Ganapathi idol here keeps an account of every pilgrim who visits Srisailam Temple and thus, it is mandatory to pay your respects here while on your way back.

Sprawled over 3,568 square kilometres across five districts of Telangana—Kurnool, Prakasam, Guntur, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar, this tiger reserve is home to rare species of flora and fauna.
