Mandi

Set in close proximity to Mandi Bus Station, Bhootnath Temple is a well-liked site among both tourists and believers. The Bhootnath Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the god Shiva. The Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam that was constructed on the Beas River and can be found in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It was designed and constructed specifically for the purpose of generating hydroelectric power. The artificial lake created by the dam is quite popular among tourists. The Bhakra Beas Management Board is in charge of the dam's maintenance.

Nestled in the serene town of Mandi, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Gurudwara is a spiritual place dedicated to the 10th Sikh Guru. This sacred place offers a peaceful environment for visitors seeking solace and divine blessings amidst its tranquil surroundings.

At an elevation of 2,730 meters, the town of Prashar is well-known for the Prashar lake, as well as for its muddy meadows, dense forests, and breathtaking views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar peaks. Mandi is the starting point of this breathtaking trek. The crystal clear nature of the water gives this already stunning location an additional allure that cannot be denied.

Shikari Devi Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Himalayan foothills, is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. This was the sanctuary that in 1962 received official recognition from the Indian government. Goral, black bear, musk deer, and monal are just some of the animals that visitors to the jungle may see.

Because of the numerous forest trails that wind through the region and the breathtaking views that can be had of the Beas River from across the valley, this tourist site is a favourite destination for paragliders. The region is home to some absolutely breathtaking religious structures, particularly its monasteries and temples.

Mandi is also famous for the temple that is devoted to Kamakshya Devi, a manifestation of the Hindu goddess Durga. Here the atmosphere inside is one of tranquillity and order. The wooden structure of this temple is very much in alignment with the architectural style of the region.

On the banks of the Beas River in the city of Mandi is where you'll find the Bhimkali Temple. Bhima Kali, a manifestation of the goddess Durga, is revered as the primary deity of the temple. The Hindu and Buddhist architectural traditions came together beautifully in the construction of this temple. During the celebration of the Kali Puja, there is a great deal of vigour and fervour in the atmosphere.

The Shikari Devi temple can be found tucked away in the midst of snow-covered mountains and a thick pine tree forest at an elevation of about 2850 metres above sea level. It is said that the Pandava brothers meditated here while they were living in exile, which resulted in them receiving the blessing of the goddess Durga and paved the way for them to eventually win the battle.

The historical Triloknath temple can be found in the Purani Mandi neighbourhood of the city. In the year 1520, Sultan Devi, queen of Raja Ajber Sen, gave the order to begin construction on it. The interior of the temple is adorned with a statue made of stone that depicts the trinity of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as well as the revered Nandi Bull.

At the Tarna Devi temple is a heavenly shrine that is dedicated to Goddess Shyama Kali. Goddess Shyama Kali is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The temple is located in the middle of a dense forest, 300 feet above ground level, and is the highest point in the surrounding area. The spectacular view of snow-capped mountains is definitely one of the highlights of the trip. In addition to being known by its original name, the Shyama Kali Temple was constructed in the 17th century. In order for visitors to go closer to the temple, they have to first climb 305 steps.

The age of this garden is estimated to be five hundred years old. According to the urban legend, Raja Sidh Sen, the King of Mandi, had his son-in-law Raja Prithi of Bhangal murdered and buried here. The park plays host to a significant number of important events that take place in the city. Following Raja Joginder Sen's arrival, the lake was transformed into a beautiful garden. In addition, there is a clock tower located within this garden.

People from all over India make the journey to the Panchvaktra Temple, which is situated at the confluence of the Suketi and Beas rivers. It is considered to be the most sacred of all the Shiva temples. A large statue of Shiv can be found in the Panchvaktra temple. The main porch of the temple is known as a Mandap, and it is supported by four pillars that have elaborate carvings on them.

The Rewalsar lake is a breathtaking sight since it is enormous and is a brilliant shade of blue. This gorgeous lake may be found approximately 22.5 kilometres away from Mandi at an elevation of approximately 1,360 metres above sea level. The lake is surrounded on all sides by tall mountains. All three of the predominant religious groups in Himachal Pradesh—Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists—hold a profound reverence for the spiritual significance of Rewalsar Lake.
