Ras Al Khaimah

Located in the western part of the city, the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah boasts an extensive collection of archaeological and ethnological artefacts. The museum maps the region’s history from the first settlers to the late Islamic period.

Settled in an area of about 1 million sq m, the RAK Zoo is home to some of UAE’s most exotic species of animals. The zoo maintains a natural habitat for the animals with air-conditioned cages and 3D picture walls.

An 18th century structure perched upon a cone-shaped hillock on the bay of Dhayah, this fort served as a natural defence post for the oasis. The fort played a major role during the British attacks in 1819 against the tribes of Ras Al Khaimah.

Located at a few minutes’ drive to the south of Ras Al Khaimah, Al Jazirah Al Hamra is one of the last authentic and traditional town still standing in the United Arab Emirates. The town is known for its collection of abandoned houses and other buildings.

A small hamlet by the Hajar Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah, Shimal is the home to the myriad of pre-Islamic tombs. The village is of great archaeological importance due to its ancient findings that hint at a civil settlement around 2000-1300 BC.

Located in the heart of Ras Al Khaimah, the Saqr Park is popular among locals as the perfect spot to rejuvenate amid serene greenery. The project was commissioned in 1989 and is presently home to various grounds and recreational activities.

This man-made wonder in RAK lies close to Umm Al Quwain and comprises of four small islets each offering a unique experience. The island is home to RAK’s best beach resorts and entertainment hotspots for visitors of every age.

Opened not less than 2 decades ago, the Manar Mall is the favourite spot of locals for shopping and leisure. Apart from high end brands, one can explore the various entertainment zones and sport spots within the mall.
