Parwanoo

Located about 20 minutes’ drive from Parwanoo, this 17th century garden was built during the early days of the emperor Aurangzeb . This was one of his Mughal gardens summer retreat. Later, it was renovated by the sikh rulers of the Patiala Dynasty.

It was built between 1898 and 1903, under the leadership of Herbert Septimus Harington. This train route was constructed during the British Raj to connect Shimla (former summer capital) to the rest of India.

Located atop a hill in Parwanoo, this temple is dedicated to Kamakhya Devi, a Hindu tantric goddess belonging to the Shakti traditions. It is one of the 51 Shakti peeths in India.

Located adjacent to Pinjore Gardens, about half an hour's drive from Parwanoo, the complex houses the restored ruins. Earlier destroyed by Muslim invaders, these ruins are of an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Bhimadevi, a goddess from the Shakti tradition.

Located in Parwanoo and spanned across the two mountains of the valley, the ropeway is a 1.8 kilometres round-trip ride to a restaurant in the hills.

In this region, the pleasant climate makes it possible to grow fruits. Here, they make products like jam, pickle and jellies. Also, vegetables, potatoes and rice are grown.
