Khammam
Khammam is the fourth biggest city in the Indian state of Telangana and has been there for quite some time, going by a number of different names during the course of its long history. The city was significant in India's fight for independence from colonial rule and is about 200 kilometres from the state capital of Hyderabad. In modern times, it has become a cultural icon and a spiritual hub for tourists. It is named after the vertical rock or 'Khamba' at the base of the Narsimhadri Temple.
