Mangalore

Dedicated to a form of goddess Shakti, this temple features typical Kerala-style architecture, mostly made of wood. Mangalore was named after goddess Mangaladevi.

The Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, also known as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is located in Mangalore, Karnataka. Built in 1912, the temple features four gopuras adorned with murals and smaller shrines dedicated to various deities. Navrathri and Shivaratri are celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Close to the Mangalore Port, this serene beach is extremely popular among tourists and locals alike. The annual International Kite Festival is hosted here.

Located on the Lighthouse Hill, this iconic chapel was built by Italian Jesuit Antonio Moscheni. It is designed to resemble the chapels of Rome.

Built by Tipu Sultan himself, this watchtower was used to keep a watch on the invasions through the sea. It houses underground chambers where weapons were stored by the Sultan.

Nestled on the foothills of the Kantawara forests, this butterfly sanctuary sprawls across 7 acres. The park houses about 118 species of butterflies.

A ferry ride away from Sultan Battery, this golden sand beach is spick and span with facilities like a planned parking lot, trained lifeguards, proper toilets and food joints.

Agumbe Rainforest, located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka, is one of the last remaining lowland rainforests. It is often referred to as the 'Cherrapunji of the South' due to its high rainfall.
