Van Vihar received the status of a National Park in 1979. The park is draped in green and flaunts hundreds of species of plants and animals. The park segments animals in two categories i.e. captives and herbivores.

The mosque’s construction was started under the rule of Sultan Shah Jehan Begum of Bhopal. The name literally translates to ‘Crown among mosques’ and rightfully so with a humongous architecture of pink walls and white domes.

Also known as Bhojeshwar Tempe, the shrine was built by Raja Bhoj and is devoted to Lord Shiva. The temple is at a half-an-hour drive from Bhopal and is situated close to Betwa River.

Located at the Arera hilltop and built by Birla Foundation, the temple is dedicated to Hindu deity of wealth, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. The massive structure is inspired by Nagar temple style.

Popular as Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, this is an anthropology museum. IGRMS sprawls over 200 acres on the Shamla Hills by the Upper Lake and displays humanity’s journey through time and space.

Located at the Dronachal Complex in Bhopal Military Station, the museum houses war artefacts and informative texts on various topics in the six sections called Preksha Grah, Parichay, Avishkar, Astra Shastra, Alpahar and Swagat Kaksh.

Nestled upon the banks of Upper Lake, the palace was built by Qudsia Begum, first female ruler of Bhopal in 1820. The palace has tattered a bit with time, but consistent efforts are being made to restore it to its past glory.
