The Baijnath Temple is a major draw to Palampur; it was founded in 1204 AD by two local businessmen named Ahuka and Manyuka. The current structure of the temple is a beautiful representation of the Nagara architectural style, which is typical of temples built in mediaeval times in what is now northern India. In the temple's interior, beneath the towering Shikhara, you can find the Svayambhu form of the 'Shiva Lingam.' The square Mandapa has two large balconies and is accessed from an entry hall.
