Chittorgarh

Sprawled atop a hill (180 metres high) in an area of 691.9 acres that overlooks the plains and the mighty Berach River, this 7th century UNESCO World Heritage Site was the erstwhile capital of Mewar kingdom.

Located near Kalika Mata Temple in Chittor Fort, this imposing structure was erected between the years 1458 and 1468 by Rana Kumbha to celebrate Mewar’s triumph over the combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat led by Mahmud Khilji.

Located within Chittor Fort, this 72 feet high tower standing on a 30 foot wide base, was built by Jijaji Rathod (a Bagherwal Jain merchant) during the 12th century. It is dedicated to Adinath, a revered Jain teacher.

Located inside the precincts of Chhitor Fort near the entrance gate, this palace is said to have been built by Bappa Rawal (a Mewar ruler) in 734 A.D and was later renovated and used by Maharana Kumbha.

Located in the southern section of the Chittor Fort, this structure was the palatial abode of Rani Padmini, the daughter of Gandharvasen (a Sinhala ruler) and the wife of Rajput king, Rawal Ratan Singh.
