Almora

One of the most famous temples in Uttarakhand, Chitai Golu Temple is dedicated to Golu Ji, considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva in the form of Gaur Bhairav

The place is situated at a hair pin bend on the Almora rim. It is popular for its breath-taking view to dawn and dusk. It is recently renamed as Vivekananda corner.

It was established by Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army for preserving their rich legacy. The Museum displays Great War artefacts like medals and uniform, flags, weapons used by armed forces.

It exhibits the belongings of the rulers of Katyuri and Chand dynasty. It also exhibits the antique collection of Kumaoni style paintings.

This 1000 years old temple was dedicated to Goddess Nanda Devi by the Kings of Chand dynasty. It has a huge stone idol established in the premises encircled with wooden roof.

It is located about 3 km from Almora. The premises of the park are surrounded by the pine and oak trees.

This 9th century Historic Hindu temple is considered as second most important sun temple in India after Konark Sun Temple. It was built by Katarmalla, a Katyuri King.

Jageshwar Mahadev is located at Jataganga valley. It has great archaeological attractions in the shrine.
