Rajhansgad Yellur Fort

Constructed in the 13th century by Ratta dynasty rulers, this is one of the oldest forts in Karnataka. It acted as a jail when Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned here during the freedom struggle.

Belgaum Fort

One of the city’s oldest temples, this Shiva shrine is managed by the Indian Army and was inaugurated in 1955. It is surrounded by a green, well-landscaped garden that has some benches to sit on.
