Giza

Egyptian pyramids are royal tombs that range from simple mud-brick structures to stone ones with hieroglyphic inscriptions. The Great Pyramid, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, is the largest of the three main pyramids of Giza, situated near Cairo (25 km).

Located in the Giza Necropolis, this is a statue of a sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and head of a human. One of the most iconic images of Egypt, seen on many postcards and brochures, it’s located on the western banks of the Nile.

Dedicated to Egyptian history, the museum houses replicas of an old village along with a tomb of Tutankhamen. This is a great attraction for kids.

Situated west of the Nile River, the 28-acre garden comprises a building with preserved plants, a rock garden, a rose garden, cactus gardens and a lotus pond.

Part of the Giza Necropolis, this pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaure. The mortuary temple is 213 feet tall and includes 3 annex pyramids.

The second-tallest and the second-largest of the ancient pyramids of Giza, this is the tomb of the fourth dynasty pharaoh Khafre or Chephren who was Egypt's ruler from 2558 to 2532 BC.
