Bharatpur

Formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, the Keoladeo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for being home to over 370 species of birds and animals like the basking python, painted storks, deer, nilgai etc. It is recognised as one of the world’s most prominent bird breeding and feeding grounds.

Dedicated to Goddess Ganga, the temple was built in 1845 by Maharaja Balwant Singh and is known as a symbol of purity and holiness.

Band Baretha, the old wildlife reserve of the Bharatpur rulers is now administered by the Forest Department. It is a haven for bird enthusiasts and boasts over 200 species of birds, including the rare Black Bittern. This wildlife reserve is a must-visit for nature and wildlife enthusiasts giving them an opportunity to discover its diverse and fascinating inhabitants!
