Gujarat is home to the historically significant city of Bharuch, located on the affluent of the Narmada River. This red-painted temple may appear unassuming from the outside, but its location on the banks of the sacred Narmada River is quite breathtaking. According to legend, Lord Shiva's neck became blue after he swallowed poison during the Samudra Manthan, inspiring the name nil (meaning "blue"), and Kantha (meaning "throated").

The gorgeous golden bridge resembles a magnificent labyrinth and spans the Narmada River between the cities of Ankleshwar and Bharuch.
