Mashobra

Spread across 9.6 hectares on a hill-side and perched at a height of 7,700 feet in Sharahai Mashobra, the park was originally the summer residence of the Italian countess of Craignano, which later got converted into a dak bungalow and eventually a nature park.

Located at 9,423 feet, right behind the Mashobra ridge, this stand-alone peak provides a panoramic 360 degree view of the town and the hill regions of Shimla, Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda.

Located along NH5, about 10 minutes away from Mashobra, the sanctuary spread across 1,000 hectares is the main source of Shimla’s water supply and is home to dense coniferous forests and varied wildlife.

Located near Carignano Nature Park, this horticulture station is a part of Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry and is dedicated to the research on temperate fruits. It was originally an apple orchard planted by Alexander Coutts (a tailor to Lord Dufferin, the then Viceroy of India) on Hillock’s Head in 1887.

Located in central Mashobra, the church was built during the British rule of India in the memory of those who frequented the region and were overtaken by the Great War, died during 1914-1921.
