Hisar

This stunning church, built in the Victorian style, is dedicated to St. Thomas, one of the twelve key disciples of Jesus. The construction of the church ended in 1864, making it one of the city's newest buildings. The church is also adjacent to a cemetery where you can pay a visit.

The mausoleum complex known as Dargah char Qutab is where four significant Sufi Saints are buried. Jamal-ud-Din Hansi, Nur-ud-Din, Burhan-ud-Din, and Qutab-ud-Din Manuwar are all honoured in the dargah. The number four (char) in Hindi is the basis for the name of this dargah, which refers to the four renowned Sufi saints.

Located on the outskirts of the city, Lohari Ragho is where the Harappan Civilization first emerged. The location is expected to reveal three Pre-Harappan mounds upon excavation. Harappan Civilization artefacts were discovered here as well. There were also reports of artefacts from the early Rig Vedic period, making this location crucial for the preservation of historical records and the study of early human settlements.

The Shri Devi Bhawan Mandir is one of the most significant religious sites in Hisar. When the West Jamuna canal split off in 1770, Maharaja Amar Singh of Patiala used the opportunity to build a shrine there. Many statues depicting Hindu deities are on display here. The Devi Bhawan Temple is among the city’s most historic and revered places of worship.

When it comes to agriculture, HAU is one of Asia's top schools. The campus is so huge and attractive that it has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The total size of the university's campus is 8465 acres, out of which 6483 acre is used for farming and 1426 acre is outstation and in rest of the 736 acre is the main campus.

The crystal-clear Blue Bird Lake is located near Hisar airport on NH 10. There are a total of 52 acres that make up the lake and the park around it. The lake itself covers 20 acres, and serves as a refuge for migrating birds. If you are lucky, you can witness thousands of white ducks making their home in Blue Bird Lake.

The Asirgarh Fort, also known as the Hansi Fort, is a major tourist attraction. It is commonly referred to as Prithviraj Chauhan ka Quila. Harshavardhana is credited with constructing the fort in its present form, and it has resemblance to structures and designs seen on coins from much further back in this region’s history. After Prithviraj Chauhan's loss, a mosque was constructed inside the fort, which is characterised by a flat roof and lengthy pillars.

Hisar's Town Park is a favourite destination for families and couples alike. You may get away from the chaos of the city and relax in this well-designed garden. In the middle of the park lies a beautiful melodic fountain, which is the main attraction here.

The Agroha Complex is home to three different temples: one dedicated to the Goddess Mahalaxmi, another to the Goddess Saraswati, and finally, the third one to Maharaj Agrasen, the complex's spiritual leader.
