The city of Kakinada is the sixth-largest city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This city is one of the most visited destinations in Kakinada due to its prime location on the Bay of Bengal. The city, once known as “Kakanadivada,” flourished during the European colonisation of India, when the Dutch and then the British were the dominant colonisers. The city was renamed Kakinada during the Indian independence movement. This city, sometimes referred to as the “City of Fertilisers,” is home to several facilities producing synthetic fertilisers, petroleum, natural gases, edible oils, sugar and biofuels.
