Pushkar

The Brahma Temple in Pushkar, marked by its red spire and sacred swan image, features a marble structure adorned with silver coins. The sanctum houses the four-faced idol of Brahma.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this place too has a lot of significance for its mythological roots. Dating back to the 10th century AD, it is believed that this temple was built by Lord Brahma.

The Varaha Temple in Pushkar is the largest and oldest, dating back to the 12th century. Built by King Anaji Chauhan, it honours Varaha, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the form of a boar.

Merta is an ancient city near Pushkar, known for witnessing many historic battles in the past. This is also the birthplace of famous poetess and Krishna’s devotee, Meerabai.
