Coimbatore

Built in the 2nd century by Karikala Chola (a Tamil king), this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, also known as Pateeswarar. Many regard this as the place where the Lord performed the divine dance of Ananda Thandavam.

Perched atop a hill in the Western Ghats at a height of 600 feet, this 12th century temple was constructed by Tamil rulers in honour of Lord Murugan, the much revered Hindu God of war and victory. It is a 20 minute drive from the city of Coimbatore.

Dedicated to the Hindu god Vinayagar, the temple is located in Eachanari village at a distance of about 12 kilometres from Coimbatore. It is constructed in Dravidian-style architecture and said to have been built in 1500 AD.
