Located on the southern bank of Krishna River in the Amaravathi village, this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (known as Amaralingeswara Swamy) and his companion, Bala Chamundika, the 4th of the 18 goddesses, is quite popular amongst the locals.

Amaravati Mahachaitya Stupa

Amaravati Mahachaitya Stupa

An ancient Buddhist monument in the Amaravathi village
Built in phases between the 3rd century BCE and 250 CE, during rule of the Satavahanas and the Ikshvakus. The ruins of this Stupa were first discovered by Colin Mackenzie, the first surveyor general of India, in 1797.
