Mir Yousuf Ali Khan (also known as Salar Jung III) laid the foundation of the Salar Jung Museum in 1951. He was the Prime Minister of the Nizam of Hyderabad. He was a passionate collector and has gathered an extensive array of art, antiques, and historical artefacts around the globe. When he died, all his collections were donated to the nation, which has formed the core of the museum's exhibits. In recent times, it has been one of the largest museums in India, reflecting centuries of history and global artistic traditions.
