About Petronas Twin Towers History


Cesar Pelli designed the Petronas Twin Towers with the aim to symbolise Malaysia's rapid modernization and economic growth. They were the world's tallest buildings from 1996 to 2004 until surpassed by the Taipei 101 building. Moreover, the Petronas Towers remained the world's tallest twin skyscrapers by surpassing the World Trade Center towers in New York. In fact, it was the tallest building in Malaysia until 2021.
