Inspired by Kashmir�s Shalimar Garden, the Brindavan Gardens history suggests it was constructed in 1932 as a terraced garden. It is a popular botanical garden which was ideated by the then diwan of Mysore. It has been built over the Cauvery River and carries the Mughal style of architecture.
The beautiful garden comprises three terraces, an array of water channels, fountains, lawns, parterres, flower beds and more. It is currently maintained by the Public Works Department and the Karnataka State Tourism Department. The layout of the garden comprises different parts, like North Brindavan, South Brindavan, Main Gate Area, Children�s Garden, etc. The lake here houses the famous musical fountain and also offers boating rides to visitors.
