Known as Venice’s island of the dead, San Michele is a tiny island that is Venice’s cemetery and was constructed in 1800. A short boat ride from Cannaregio in Venice, this is one place where you get lesser crowds and peaceful atmosphere. You will also spot someof the graves have intricate sculptures carved on them. While you are at this island, you can also visit a church that is closely located to the cemetery.
