Punta della Dogana Overview

Shaped in a triangle, this art museum beautifully splits the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal in the  district. The art collection is stored inside the building of Dogana da Mar. Originally constructed as a custom house and then renovated as a centre of contemporary art; it includes the famous François Pinault collection.

In 2009, it was renovated by a renowned architect known as Tadao Ando. A must-visit for an art-lover, you will find Chen Zhen’s crystal artefacts, Abdel Abdessemed’s drawings and Maurizio Cattelan's haunting art which has marble figures displayed on the floor and that appear like Venice’s ghosts from the past.

  • Opening Closing Time 10 am to 7 pm (Closed on Tuesday)

  • Entrance Fee €15
