A sandbar stretching across 11 kilometres in Venice, this beautiful location is home to approximately 20,000 residents. The place also has a small airport which can accommodate only small aircrafts and has a runway of just 1000 metres. Lido is popular on the world map as it plays host to the famous Venice Film Festival that takes place every year in the month of September.

A favourite with travellers during the summer months, the crowd grows in huge numbers at Lido. While on one side of Lido are some luxury hotels, casino and few points of attractions; the other side has beaches, some of which are private while the rest are meant for public. The most interesting part of Lido is that it is the only place in Venice where motor transport is allowed.
