Situated in the centre of Scuola Grande of Santa Maria della Carità, the academia also has Santa Maria church and Canonici Lateranensi monastery. The museum houses a rather strange collection of painting exhibiting forbidden romantic tales, lethal scheming and other related to outrageous. Inside the museum, you will find many admirable Venetian paintings of Bellini, Carpaccio, Giorgione, Veronese, Tintoretto and fourteenth century artists- Bizantine and Gothic.

There are 24 rooms inside this academia and a set of 4 to 5 rooms depict an era of artists and their exclusive works. While rooms 1 to 5 are styled from 14th to 18th century, room 6 to 10 highlights the renaissance period and rooms 11 to 19 talk highly of the Venetian socialites. A walk in the Academia acquaints you with the different colours of Venice’s history and its glorious past.

  • Opening Closing Time 8:15 am to 7:15 pm (Tuesday to Sunday); 8:15 am to 2 pm (Monday)
