Located in Padua in northern Italy, the Basilica of St Anthony is a few hours’ drive from Venice and makes up for a great day trip from Venice. It was at this Basilica where Saint Mark was buried. Although the corpse of Saint Anthony was first placed in Madonna Mora Chapel but during 14th century, the chapel was incorporated into the present building.

This Roman Catholic Church is also home to the largest bronze works of Donatello. Built in 13th century, the church has an imposing exterior made of bricks and has a dome that is quite similar to the Basilica of Saint Mark’s. As you step inside the church, you would see 14th century frescoes by Altichiero da Zevio and bronze artefacts by Donatello.
