Kuthar Fort, which once served as the residence of the royal family of Kuthar, is a major place of interest at present. It is a spectacular heritage site, and a part of which has been converted into a royal resort. The fort, approximately an hour’s drive from Shimla Airport, is known to be around 800 years old. Sprawling over an expanse of 52.8 sq km, this fort features beautiful gardens, fresh-water springs and ancient temples within the complex.
