"Kunjapuri Devi Temple is one of the most revered Hindu shrines, located around 15 km away from Rishikesh. The temple is situated on its namesake peak at an elevation of 1676 m above sea level. This shrine is one of the three Siddha Peeths, the other two being Surkanda Devi and Chandrabadani. There is an interesting legend associated with this temple. It was here that the upper-half of Goddess Sati's body fell when Her husband - Lord Shiva was carrying it to Mount Kailash.

Countless devotees throng this temple during Navratras (April and October) and Dusshera, two of the most important Hindu festivals. Perched atop a hillock, this temple gives a breathtaking view of the mighty Himalayas and the holy towns of Haridwar and Rishikesh."
