Located on the banks of the Ganga River, Gita Bhawan is an institution that serves as a museum for preserving the Hindu religious literature. From Vedas to Puranas, Epics and more, there are many ancient books at this museum. The bhawan is a large complex, comprising several discourse halls and guest rooms where visitors can stay free of cost. Many people come here to meditate and attend religious discourses (Satsang), especially during the months between April and July.

At the bhawan, guests can savour delicious vegetarian food at moderate prices. It also has an ayurvedic department where medicines are prepared using Himalayan herbs. One of the most revered attractions of this place is the centuries-old Banyan Tree. It is believed to be the site for penance of many renowned saints, such as Swami Ramtirth.

There are also several paintings, including the famous Gita Sandesh, which draw the attention of visitors. In the painting, Lord Krishna and the great Pandava warrior Arjuna are shown in a chariot in the Kurukshetra War field. The sculptures and statues in the precincts of this bhawan give detailed information about the Hindu culture.
