Built in 1906, Cellular Jail is drenched in colonial and political history. Indian freedom fighters were jailed and gruesomely executed by the British in these confines. What fascinates and disturbs you at the same time is the overall architecture and the extremely small and suffocating jail cells.

The Light and Sound Show in the evening is a must see. The show, started in 1989, offers a glimpse into the Indian freedom struggle in this region. Narrated by the actor Om Puri, there are daily shows in both Hindi and English.
