"Raj Bhawan – the Governor's House in Nainital is an imposing edifice that serves as the official residence of the Governor of Uttarakhand. It serves host to state guests and notable personalities coming to Nainital, apart from being the home of the State Governor.

The architecture of the Governor's House bears a striking resemblance to the Buckingham Palace, which makes it one of the most beautiful reminders of the British era in India. Designed in Gothic style, this edifice has been built using different types of stones like grey marble, dolomite limestone, Naloina freestone and Agra's red sandstone. Exquisite woods like teak, shisham, satin wood, sal, pine wood and cypress are used in the flooring, stairs, doors and windows.

Apart from the main building, the Governor's House has beautiful gardens, swimming pool and a sprawling 50-acre golf course. This 18-hole golf course is the prime attraction and has hosted several golf competitions.
