Vinog Mountain Quail Sanctuary, also known as Benog Wildlife Sanctuary, was established in the year 1993. This beautiful sanctuary, spreading across an expanse of about 339 hectares, is a haven for birdwatchers. It is home to Pahari Bater or Mountain Quail (on-the-verge-of-extinction bird), which was last seen in the year 1876.

The natural essence and picturesque location are major stimulants that attract visitors to this sanctuary in large numbers. The Aglar River (tributary of the Yamuna River) flows through this sanctuary, adding to its overall appeal. Besides, visitors can behold snow-clad Chaukhamba and Bandarpunch mountain ranges from here.
