To give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time is our religion – the motto of the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust speaks volumes about its contributions in the subjective well-being of the public. With its headquarters in Mumbai, this organisation regulates more than 300 centres all over India and abroad. Six executive bodies of this trust in Mumbai look after the administration of all the centres. It is basically a Hindu spiritual organisation that strives to disseminate the science of Vedanta and preach the idea of 'self' as described in the Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita.

The Trust was founded by Swami Chinmayananda, the world famous teacher of Vedanta, in 1953. Headed by Swami Tejomayananda, this trust organises various weekly activities like Shishu Vihar, Balvihar and Study Groups for adults at all the centres across the world. It is also engaged in social activities like providing medical facilities and upgrading rural areas.

The trust has contributed in the field of education by setting up a number of institutions, including 70 regular schools and 4 colleges that strive to serve India and other countries. It has also established three Harihar Schools that provide free education and vocational training to needy children, besides a Value Based Vision Programme for Schools (organised in different parts of India).

It has remained active in the field of culture by setting up numerous cultural centres like Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Centre for World Understanding and Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukul. The Central Chinmaya Mission Trust is an ideal place for spiritual seekers who would like to learn the science of Vedanta.
