One of the recently established museums in Lucerne, the Rosengart museum is indeed an art lover’s delight. Displaying the works of renowned artists Pablo Picasso and Paul Klee, the museum has an unmatchable collection of paintings by 21 other artists (including names like Cézanne, Chagall, Miró, Pissarro of 20th century). These works depict the Classic Modern period.

Admire as many as 32 paintings by the famous Picasso and 125 drawings as well as paintings by Paul Klee. Since Picasso’s living room was his studio, you can see many of his sketches with a domestic backdrop- the one with the children, a ballet lesson, the one where he is wrapped in a Spanish hat and cape and many others. Apart from paintings, the museum stores 200 photographs by David Duncan Douglas.

  • Opening Closing Time 10 am to 6 pm (April –October); 11 am to 5 pm (November – March)
