Describing It

Kumarakom is a peninsula of green meadows and serene backwaters and finds a place on the itinerary of every tourist travelling to Kerala. A tiny village with a cluster of even tinier islands, Kumarakom adorns the enchanting Vembanad Lake with much grace and charm.

A birdwatcher’s paradise, the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a habitat for several migratory birds and is situated on the banks of the radiant Vembanad Lake. This sanctuary is covered in rich greenery and is home to birds such as the Siberian Crane, Egret, Heron, Water-Fowl, Ducks, Moorhens and Kingfishers.
