Originally built as a commercial bank in 1910, it was later chosen to become a museum due to its convenient location and its surroundings. It contains all the national treasures of the past of Malaysia. From documents and maps to all the geological specimens are present in the museum. The museum owns a metaphoric sandstone 520 million years old as well as an 8 sided gold coin of the 15th century. It also has weapons, manuscripts, seals and tools used in the olden days of Malaysia.
