Oozing palpable spiritual energy, the famous Sri Mayapur Chandordaya Temple is a highly revered place of worship in West Bengal. What adds to the significance of this religious site is the fact that it is the first Krishna temple built by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The region 'Mayapur' on which the temple is located serves as the headquarters of ISKCON - the world renowned religious organisation.

The idols of Radha and Krishna that are surrounded by eight gopis are mainly worshiped here. A large image of Srila Prabhupada - the founder of ISKCON, in meditating position is placed on the main temple room's left side. Between the image of Srila Prabhupada and idols of Radha Krishna with eight gopis, there is an idol Lord Narsimhadeva.

Within the complex, adjacent to the main hall, you will find the Sri Pancha Tattva Temple, which features idols of Sri Chaitanya Prabhu and his associates. Mayapur receives recognition as the birthplace of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Krishna as per the Bhavishya Purana. At Sri Mayapur Chandordaya Temple, there is also a spacious well-stocked library and an exhibition area where Sri Chaitanya's life and works are displayed.
