One of India's oldest art societies, the Academy of Fine Arts attracts art lovers from different corners of the state and beyond. At present, this academy boasts of having the largest gallery space in the country with eight spacious galleries on the ground floor itself. The entire first floor has been thoughtfully converted into a museum that exhibits an extensive collection of arts of different types, artists and ages.

In the Gallery of Contemporary Art, you will find exquisite paintings and sculptures of India from 1900 to the present day. Rare and old textiles in the Gallery of Old Textiles, the Ram-Sita series of 18 miniature paintings in the Gallery of Miniature Paintings and exclusive carpets in the Carpet Gallery are the proud possessions of the academy.

On the third storey, a new wing to the museum has been built in 1982. Here, brilliant artworks of Indian and British painters who belong to the 18th and 19th century are kept on display. In addition to these, the academy features a Gallery of Contemporary Graphics and Line Drawings and an art library.
