  • Bus

Kandy has a main bus stop at the Good Shed. Many buses ply from here connecting most of the parts of Kandy to each other. Travelling by bus can be a little uncomfortable but it is also the best way to travel with the locals and get to mingle with them.

  • Taxi

You can hire cabs or cars from one of the several car rental agencies in Kandy. The cars are available for self-drive as well as with the option of hiring a driver along. Although a bit costly, hiring a car/cab gives the flexibility of making your own schedule.

  • Three wheelers or Tuk-Tuk

Tuk-Tuk is the most common and perhaps the best way to get around in Kandy. They are very cheap and are easily available – almost throughout the night.

  • Motorcycles

You can also hire a motorcycle at one of the motorcycle rental agencies. For two people on a holiday, exploring Kandy on a motorcycle is an adventure in itself.

  • Walking

The weather in Kandy, for most part of the year, is pleasant and cool. It is a small town and most of the attractions can be explored by walking around the town. You can enjoy the scenery and take pictures while walking around at a leisurely pace.
