The Maria Theresa Street is one of the busiest and most popular streets of Inssbruck. Named after Empress Maria Theresa, the street stretches right from the Triumphal Arch to the Old Town and is buzzing with people.

The street also has a very strong historical significance since it was down this very street that Andreas Hofer, a resistance fighter marched during the First battle of Innsbruck against the Bavarain-French forces.

You will find many impressive historical monuments along this street such as the Chapel St.George and St.Anne’s Column to name a few. Today, the street is also lined with many outdoor cafe’s, restaurants, bars and shops. Maria Theresa Street is a great place to take a relaxed stroll while enjoying the many sights of Innsbruck.
