Located on the fringes of the Old Town in Innsbruck, the Hofgarten is a protected park covering an area of 25 acres. The park was built in the 16th century for the imperial rulers, but today is open for the general public.

The Hofgarten is managed by the Austrian Federal Gardens and contains a host of beautiful flora, ponds, a children’s play area, a tree house and a garden restaurant. The palm house contains a diverse collection of 1700 species of plants which is open for public viewing. The park also has horse drawn carriages where visitors can enjoy a horse carriage ride.
